Overview
What is LiveAgent AI?
LiveAgent AI refers to the AI capabilities built into LiveAgent’s broader customer-support platform rather than a separate standalone product. These features add AI-powered chat, ticket assistance, summarization, triage, and autonomous ticket processing to LiveAgent’s existing ticketing, live-chat, knowledge-base, and help-desk workflows.
- AI chatbot: LiveAgent’s AI Chatbot works inside the existing chat widget and can answer customer questions using public or internal knowledge sources, including connected databases. The chatbot is configured through FlowHunt, supports different LLMs and workflows, and can transfer a conversation to a human agent while preserving the complete chatbot history and context in the same support conversation.
- Agent assistance: Answer Assistant can generate a reply from the history of an existing ticket or refine a draft according to an agent’s instructions. Ticket Summary condenses the complete ticket conversation into a stored summary and marks that summary as outdated when new messages arrive, allowing agents to refresh it when needed.
- AI ticket automation: LiveAgent’s newer AI Agents are reusable automation configurations that can be triggered by the platform’s rules engine. Using LiveAgent’s built-in MCP tools, an authorized AI agent can process matching tickets and perform actions such as adding tags, categorizing or triaging requests, assigning tickets, transferring them to departments, resolving tickets, or generating knowledge-base content without an agent manually performing each step.
- AI setup and providers: The required setup varies by feature. The AI Chatbot requires a FlowHunt integration, and Ticket Summary currently sends conversations to FlowHunt for processing. Answer Assistant can be configured with FlowHunt or OpenAI, while AI Agents use a configured AI provider, with LiveAgent recommending FlowHunt when greater workflow control and troubleshooting are required. AI usage can therefore introduce separate provider or FlowHunt credit costs in addition to the underlying LiveAgent subscription.
LiveAgent AI is most relevant to support teams that already want LiveAgent’s ticketing and live-chat environment but also need customer self-service, faster ticket review, AI-assisted replies, and rule-driven automation in the same workflow. Its value depends on support volume, knowledge quality, automation design, AI-provider costs, and how carefully teams define the actions autonomous agents are permitted to perform.
