Overview
What is Sabre SynXis?
Sabre SynXis is the former branding of the SynXis hospitality commerce platform, now operated by Aven Hospitality. Sabre sold its Hospitality Solutions business to TPG in July 2025, and the independent business relaunched as Aven Hospitality in January 2026. SynXis remains its core platform for central reservations, distribution, direct booking, retailing, payments, and related hotel-commerce workflows.
- Central reservations and distribution: SynXis Central Reservation System (CRS) centralizes rates, availability, inventory, reservations, and distribution controls across hotel portfolios. It distributes hotel content through direct channels, OTAs, GDS networks, and other connected sales channels while integrating with PMS, revenue-management, loyalty, and hospitality systems. Aven currently reports more than 600 platform integrations.
- Direct booking: Aven Hospitality Booking Engine uses SynXis inventory and pricing to support hotel-direct reservations and branded booking journeys. The company is also developing its next-generation in-context Booking Engine, which embeds the shopping experience directly into hotel websites; this newer experience was still being tested with early adopters in 2026. SynXis CRS and Booking Engine also gained MCP enablement in 2026 for phased connectivity with AI-driven travel discovery platforms.
- Hotel retailing: Aven Hospitality Retailing extends the SynXis commerce model beyond guestrooms. Hotels can sell upgrades, services, experiences, goods, policies, and other ancillary products with a room reservation or as standalone purchases for non-staying customers. Machine-learning recommendations can also be used to present more relevant add-ons during the booking journey.
- AI guest engagement: the product previously called SynXis Concierge.AI is now branded Concierge for Booking. It provides AI-powered assistance during the direct-booking journey, answering property questions, supporting room discovery and booking decisions, and using connected SynXis information to provide current hotel-specific responses. Earlier Concierge.AI capabilities also introduced AI-supported email, social, and voice interactions through a unified communication environment.
SynXis is most relevant to hotel groups and larger independent properties that need centralized reservation and distribution control, direct-booking technology, ancillary retailing, and connectivity across a substantial hospitality technology ecosystem.
