Coveo is an enterprise AI search and relevance platform that indexes content from cloud, on-premises, knowledge, service, website, and commerce systems, then applies machine learning, personalization, recommendations, and generative AI across customer service, workplace search, websites, and ecommerce.

1. Search relevance: Coveo’s unified index makes content from multiple repositories searchable through one relevance layer. Machine-learning models use behavioral signals and context for capabilities such as query suggestions, automatic relevance tuning, personalized ranking, recommendations, and dynamic facets while retaining source-system permissions.
2. Generative and conversational answers: Relevance Generative Answering (RGA) produces cited answers to natural-language questions using only the customer-selected content securely indexed in its Coveo organization. In July 2026, Coveo also made Search Agent generally available, adding multi-turn conversational search that can run repeated retrieval and answer-generation steps while preserving conversation context, permissions, filters, and relevance rules.
3. Commerce discovery: Coveo for Commerce provides Search, Product Listings, and Recommendations. Its models use interactions such as clicks, views, add-to-cart events, purchases, current session behavior, and inferred intent to personalize product discovery, while Coveo Merchandising Hub lets merchants manage listing pages, facets, recommendation placements, ranking rules, and other merchandising controls.
4. Commercial considerations: Coveo licensing depends on the selected solution and usage entitlements rather than one universal self-service plan. Relevance Generative Answering is a paid product extension, and the newer Conversational Search extension is separately required to enable Coveo Search Agent, so buyers should confirm generative-query allowances and required AI extensions during procurement.
