Planon

Planon is an enterprise Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) and smart-building platform for organizations managing large real estate and facilities portfolios. Its current IWMS brings together Real Estate Management, Space & Workplace Services Management, Asset & Maintenance Management, and Energy & Sustainability Management on the Planon Platform.

1. Integrated real estate and facilities operations: Planon connects property and lease information, workplace and space management, employee services, maintenance operations, building data, and sustainability reporting. Its open, IoT-enabled architecture is designed to connect these processes with finance and HR systems as well as smart-building technologies used for HVAC, lighting, security, occupancy, and other building operations.
2. Asset and maintenance management: the maintenance suite covers reactive work orders, scheduled preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, asset lifecycle records, mobile field service, technician resource planning, inventory and procurement, vendors and warranties, budgets, health and safety, and maintenance projects. Asset records can track information such as location, age, value, reliability, repairs, performance, and replacement cost.
3. Embedded AI: Planon now documents AI directly within IWMS workflows. Current examples include Planon Assistant creating facility requests from natural-language conversations, AI extraction and summarization of contract information, adaptive maintenance, intelligent work-order prioritization, and multilingual interaction. Planon also positions its AI framework for configurable use cases that work with the platform’s existing operational data rather than as a separate general-purpose AI product.
4. Enterprise deployment: Planon can connect existing IoT projects, sensors, BMS technologies, ERP and HR applications, analytics tools, and partner applications through its platform and connector ecosystem. Its cloud service runs on AWS, while deployment typically involves selecting the relevant IWMS domains and establishing consistent building, asset, workplace, and enterprise-system data.

Planon is most relevant to large organizations that want real estate, workplace services, maintenance, sustainability, and smart-building intelligence operating from a shared enterprise platform rather than separate facilities point solutions.
